Getting moving is not that difficult on campus. After these exercise tips you will be fully energized again.

Going down!
That height! Do you dare and push your boundaries? The slide between building A and S is ideal if you are hungry for an adrenaline rush like you get in an amusement park. And it gives a satisfied feeling when you have done it.
Foosball table

The campus is full of foosball tables: use them with your classmates or colleagues! The game is social, easy, and yet competitive. Perfect to blow off some steam after an exam.
Confusing bike ride

On the fifth floor of the E building, a special bike is waiting for you; it cycles in the opposite direction to how you steer. At the same time, a nice brain twister.
Letting go like Rocky

The learning square A1.30 is full of movement material; a running course, square cubes to throw and a gymnastics buck. With the spectacle piece the punching bag plus sensor to measure your explosive punching power.
Colorful cubes

The blocks in front of the main building are cheerful and multifunctional. A few dips for your triceps, push-ups for your core and box jumps for your legs. In good weather this is an ideal place for a campus bootcamp.

Rollator walkers in building E
Those who are not in a hurry are welcome at the practice room of the Nursing study programme, E3.25, for a round of rollator racing. Not intensely physical, but it does work hard on your laughing muscles.
X Staircase run

No, not those lazy white stairs. The staircase of building X is a real killer body workout. Up to the fourth floor it’s still okay, but after that your muscles start burning and your heart starts pounding. Up and down to X10 every day and you don’t have to go to the gym anymore.
Movement library

At the library ‘game changers in sports & games innovation’, known as SSPUiZ, every student and employee can borrow sports and games equipment. From darts, rackets and balls to table tennis bats. SSPUiZ is open every weekday from 08:00 to 17:00. You will find this lending location opposite the sports canteen.

‘Make energizers a daily routine’
Justus Beth is lecturer Sport Studies at Calo and advocates to do exercise breaks together:
“One sports or exercise moment is not enough compensation for sitting still all day at college. But how do you keep moving on campus during the day? The key is almost always not to do it alone. So share your desire to exercise and look for ways together to make it part of your daily routine, that also creates a good bond.”
Sports movements release happiness hormones in the body, such as dopamine, serotonin and endorphins.
Tips from Justus Beth:
- Brainstorming sessions are held outside! A green environment stimulates creativity.
- Get your cup of coffee or tea in another building.
- Have your one-on-one conversations while walking (but make an appointment to be back on time).
- Relaxing is just as important as exerting yourself; so just meditate in one of those glass call cabins.
- You can also start a team challenge with mini-games, such as playing hoop with paper balls or thumb wrestling.
